The basis of the tenno project

To raise humanity’s consciousness one person, one moment at a time

Gandhi

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were going to live forever.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

Anne Frank

“Isn’t it wonderful that we do not have to wait a single day to change ourselves?”

-Anne Frank

Socrates

“An unexamined life is not worth living.”

– Socrates

It seems to me that some people I know and meet and see every day, (including the one in the mirror), do not radiate happiness on a day-to-day basis, nor do they radiate their blissful radiant inner selves consistently. For most of us, happiness is an up and down thing because we most often expect to receive it from an outside source. This blissful Being of radiance we are born with is the true source of everlasting happiness. We are all born with it being freely exposed to all around us. What happens to that natural radiant innocent glow? This is what I have come to believe: As we act or react to life’s daily challenges, we either let that light radiate or we obscure it by laying a gauzy sheath of light-filtering jealousy or greed or arrogance or some other fear-based character trait over it. Enough of these gauzy layers of unhealthy behavior and our radiant Being of light becomes even more obscured. We don’t do these things intentionally. We do them without thinking. We wonder why we feel less radiant but we continue to do things the same way over and over expecting different results. That’s not really working, is it?

Anne Frank

“Isn’t it wonderful that we do not have to wait a single day to change ourselves?”

-Anne Frank

By nature, we all have thoughts which usually remain unspoken.

The words/phrases you see below are/were some of mine. Merely harboring them kept happiness at bay.I decided a change on my thought pattern was due. Go ahead; click on one or two. See what I am learning.

As you refer to this chart remember that there may be times when you find that light-obscuring behavior in another is merely a reflection of a tendency that you have. If you find a pattern of behavior which brings you no joy, replace it with anything from the right hand column. ANY love-based action.

That’s what I am doing every day.

Any surprises? I was surprised when I identified arrogance as a trait I was evidencing in a situation I will share with you. Business acquaintances accused me of damaging some property and blaming it on their employees. Being a person who accepts responsibility for my actions, I was indignant. I thought that the best way to react to such an accusation was to prove them wrong but the more I tried the angrier and more frustrated I became. I heard myself saying “How dare they. Do they know who they’re talking to.” Then it hit me that by that thought, I was being arrogant. Here I was being “in the right” but manifesting unhealthy thoughts. I was not happy.
Soon I reasoned that if one pattern of thought did not bring the desired blissful results, perhaps the opposite reaction might. One of the opposites of arrogance is congeniality. So I tried to be more congenial. This was a new way of thinking and reacting for me. Do you know what happened? It felt as if many of those fear-based sheaths put there by my arrogance over the years just fell away and I felt lighter and happier. I felt joy in discovering a new way to react to bliss obscuring unpleasantness. It occurred to me that if every day I reviewed my actions and reaction for bliss-obscuring moments (and understood what they were enough to react in an opposite way) I might be a happier person day-by-day because more and more of my radiant blissful Self would shine through. If every day I was able to find a way to act or react in a healthier way and kept at it daily in which direction would I be going? Would I continue in the same ol’ same ol’ mediocrity or move in the way of perfecting my human character so that the radiant Being of light showed more often? Mediocrity or moving toward perfection?

I believe each of us would like to be in the process of conscious character development. How we develop is up to us. We can decide to work on it or hope that doing the same old thing will bring better results. It has been said that, “following the path of least resistance make crooked rivers and crooked characters.” – Thoreau

Do you have a lifetime goal? Why not choose perfection in the way you act and react. What is the alternative really? Mediocrity? The same old same old? Do we really think we will be any happier or get different results if we don’t change anything we are doing?

Socrates

“An unexamined life is not worth living.”

– Socrates

If we each did this or if one in a thousand or one in a million did this would this be a happier world or a less happy one? This is a project about feeling better about ourselves and those around us. It is about removing the bliss obscuring sheaths from our radiant inner Being. It is about shining. It is about being happier. Most of us have quite a few days left in our lives. Would you rather for those days to be nice, good or perfect? You get to decide. Why not start thinking about perfecting your today, each day. Socrates said “An unexamined life is not worth living.” I think it may be boring as well.

Imagine that another motorist cut you in traffic and slowed down. Are thoughts of anger and revenge going to color your homecoming with your family? The choice is yours. Anger and revenge or love-based patience and finding something good in a situation. Choose the love and feel it blossom in you.
